She said yes.

(I "blame", in part, airiefairie's excellent proposal for ending state-sanctioned marriage in favour of civil unions for all, and beagl and kimeros for cutting a similar path. Thanks for the inspiration.)

I'm wondering if there's an option for people, if they so wish (because I suspect there is a few), to change their status of marriage to a civil union?

(Obviously with jurisdiction caveats etc)

In NZ it is apparently quite easy to transfer your status from marriage to civil union and vice versa - as long as you're a man and a woman. I know a couple who did.

Time to get rid of marriage...
