Linux Conference in Ballarat was a great success; many new installations conducted, many presentations given and a new user's group firmly established. Congratulations to all of you involved, especially the Ballarat people (yes, [livejournal.com profile] ctudball, [livejournal.com profile] noisymime), you did a great job. Even if it was St. Patrick's Day. Currently upgrading my laptop from OpenSuSE10.1 to SuSE Enterprise Server 10 on my laptop (because everyone needs enterprise server technology on their laptop, right?). Also appear to have landed myself another webcontract. On topic: Why you should not become a programmer.

Not one to rest, upon returning to Melbourne ran my Dragonlords game in its current RuneQuest incarnation and posted Scene 10 for the HeroQuest pbem. Last Sunday finished my AD&D1e DM cycle with In The Dungeons of the Slavelords. Have recently written reviews for RuneQuest Daughter's of Darkness, AD&D1e's Dungeon Masters Guide, and Rolemaster's Arms Law/Claw Law and DragonQuest.

Recently caught up with [livejournal.com profile] redcountess on her visit to Melbourne, and also with [livejournal.com profile] loom, whom I hadn't seen in ages and the delightful [livejournal.com profile] txxxpxx who charmed with a drinking photo from our favourite old pub, Jamaica Inn. Afterwards went to [livejournal.com profile] trayce's bday gathering, much fun and fine conversation, especially with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] bar_bar_ella. A few days later, was delighted to hear that [livejournal.com profile] tabouli has become engaged in the matrimonial sense, however later on the same day [livejournal.com profile] severina_242 tells me the same news about herself. Goodness you two, it's been hard enough with you both having the same birthday on the same day without deciding to tie the knot on the same day as well!

Thanks for coming down! I think I speak for everyone when I say we reall appreciate the support that LUV have shown.

Here's hoping that BLUG is merely the first of many localised user groups.

We decided to tie the knot on the Sunday before, if that makes it any less freaky...

Before or after midnight... Because if it was after, then you fall on the same day apparently.

Really, you two have to meet one day. I rather suspect you'd get on really well..

'Twas good to see you also. Pity your Conference was on the same week-end as Gothcamp but them's the breaks. Hopefully one year you'll be able to have a drink for me at The Star Hotel in Walhalla & I can take the photo of you doing so ;-)

*hugs*

Yeah, I keep on missing Walhalla year after year. If it isn't East Timor, it's Ballarat.

One day I'll make, I swear...

A write up is in order about the fist fucking the left took yesterday here in Finland.

Well [livejournal.com profile] rantsparrow has made a few comments on their 'blog. Was kind of hoping that maybe you could post on [livejournal.com profile] socialists?

Ahh, in terms of what the papers are saying?

From what I've heard everyone expected a centre-left victory; and the left stayed at home causing a centre-right victory.
