As expected I landed the contract to do server migration (Red Hat Linux and Apache) and general sysadmin tasks for DataLink. Work for InMatrix continues. This weeks adventure will be building a Windows 2003 server with IIS 6.0 for an intranet. New to both these products, have nearly finished reading the O'Reilly book for Windows Server 2003 and they say good things about it. The reality comes along and gives me this (via
monkeygirldiva; Romanian nun dies in excorcism ritual. In other gaming news after all those years I've finally picked up a copy (imported from the UK no less) of Cults of Prax and Cults of Terror. Brilliant stuff.
Have been invited to speak at the Beyond Federation conference with Senator Lyn Allison of the Democrats.Interested to discover that the Labor for Refugees protest received some international coverage over its recent rally in The Epoch Times, Haoyah and Dajiyuan. Noted Laurie Ferguson's recent sacking from the front bench with recognition that we probably played our part in his downfall.
The Melbourne Unitarians are having two consecutive speakers on industrial relations reform, the first Darrell Cochrane of the Australian Services Union did a pretty good job at giving a summary of the major changes afoot and next week is a report from a New Zealand unionist on how they coped with changes up there. If you work for a living it's probably worth reading these.
In other news, finished my review of Traci Harding's Gene of Isis for
valeskah1. It really wasn't that good.

Writing in a style appropriate to a time does require some careful work. Really one needs to have a text next to them to constantly keep in mind the language and style of the time.

The Greens are looking quite attractive these days. Although they still have a fairly nascent political philosophy.
