I'd just like to mention....

I HAVE COMPLETED MY PhD!
Of course, there is some small print....
With writing up section 4-2 under the title of "A Network of Isocratic Republics", I have completed my PhD. Note this is not the finished version. The spell checking hasn't been done, the referencing is all over the shop and I'm sure my supervisors will tell me to refer to additonal material (despite the fact it's overlength already), but it's a complete document.
Here's to a future political and economic system which operates on a highly decentralized confederate network of autonomous actors bound by trust relationships and freely distributable and open source knowledge.
Just like something we already know and love....
I do have other news - in fact, it's been an extraordinary past several days, but champagne beckons....

Date: 2004-05-09 09:27 pm (UTC)Thank you!... It's actually quite surprising how many PhD students/graduates are on this list, so the feeling with be shared ... and those who don't have one or aren't getting one are invariably clever enough _to_ get one...

Re: Yay for you!!!
Date: 2004-05-09 09:36 pm (UTC)By the time I get to BrisVegas (iirc, it's early August), I should be in a more finished rather than just complete version, so yes, party-time then!
