Having been clean-shaven (except for a very regular scruffiness) for some twenty-five years I've decided to participate in Movember, the awareness campaign for men's health targetting mental health and postrate cancer - protecting both ends, if you like. So whilst I'm developing a furry caterpillar on my upper lip and increasingly showing resemblance to an overweight Freddie Mercury, the health issues are important: Please donate, and all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

Last night gave a presentation to the Melbourne Atheist Society on The Importance of a Secular Political System, where I attempted to both raise the importance of evidence-based legislation and an agnosticism in religious matters in public reasoning, along with a request for a more conciliatory approach by atheists with theists on such matters. The event dovetailed quite well with the inaugural meeting of the First Unitarian Universalists of Melbourne (Facebook) on Sunday at Ross House with Katherine Phelps presenting.

Have sent the first chapter of my OpenFOAM book off to the publishers. Have an article on the "Maple Spring" ready for publication in Mass Strike, also have one on Syria coming out soon for the Isocracy Network. That organisation is having its AGM on November 24 with a former Federal and State MP speaking on co-operatives. Afterwards we're joining the Anarchist Media Institute for their annual visit to the Eureka Stockade.
