Hate to say it, but it sounds like your 'economics of open source' paper correctly identified well known problems, and then ducked out on suggesting solutions to the problems everyone is trying to find solutions for. Still, its a bit harsh to expect you to find solutions to problems that the entire world is grappling with.

Was the google paper about their google file system, or other stuff?

The real tragedy of Lebanon was an emerging state with an emerging tolerant pluralist vibrant culture (at least in Beirut) that has probably been bombed back into militancy.

I'd be interested to read your thoughts on Kurzweil - I have great distrust of the utopian maths of the singularitarians.
