It is not so much "historically accurate" as "we willll use the fact people kill, maim and rape each other to justify making a game about rape an murder."

In character creation you can roll on tables to determine the size of your genitals. The genital, anal and breast tables take up several pages. They claim this makes it "more realistic."

Nearly everything in FATAL is random table driven. There is a chance of rolling a starting character that was killed at birth or one with Muscular Dystrophy. People with MD rarely live past the early 20s and deteriorate rapidly from childhood. These are not acceptable adventurers.

The reality of FATAL is it sufers from severe "tableitis" (there are several d1000 tables, and at least one d10,000 table) and bad attempts to justify the obscenity of the game with claims of "historical accuracy."

It is well worth a read as an example of what not to do in an RPG.
