Sounds like the application of the signifiers method.
One thing which bulletjournal doesn't have and I find very useful is dependency tracking. Because I'm working with text files I don't need a migration symbol (cut and paste works just fine).
So currently I'm using the following signifiers:
* To Do - Subtasks X Done ! Event + Dependency ? Maybe
