eResearch Australiasia Conference
Oct. 31st, 2012 07:59 amSpending a few days in Sydney with with the eResearch Australasia conference; about five hundred people, fifty exhibitors and close to one hundred presentations - the best so far being the plenary eResearch Forum which outlined funding and implementation in the coming year, and the National Infrastructure Programmes Panel providing a useful discussion on integration. The Epic Fails in eResearch was surprisingly gentle and politically correct for the sensitivities of some present. The conference has also come with a nice dinner at Daltone House. VPAC has taken the opportunity to announce its new cluster (technical specifications also available.
Whilst at the conference I've been invited to present at another conference in Tasmania and a seminar in Dunedin. This is also an opportunity to mention two presentations I've recently given but forgot to post about; Businss Logic and Free Software at Software Freedom Day, and An Introduction to XHTML 5 at the LUV Beginners Workshop. Have also managed to briefly visit the people at the Sydney Unitarian Church, and have a dinner gathering with Sydney colleagues tonight.
