Friday night attended a group celebrating the Royal Wedding of Prince WAFL (William Arthur Phillip Louis) and Kate the Commoner. The celebration was, of course, conducted by the Carlton branch of the Labor Party and the Victorian Chapter of the Australian Republican Movement at the Celtic Club. Just the sort of wicked satire that there should be more of in politics. Wrote a brief piece for the Isocracy Network on the successes of the North African/Middle East revolutions and in particular expressing acceptance of the call by Libyan's for international intervention. As should be expected there will also be commentary on Osama bin Laden's death.

On a related topic Sunday began at the Unitarians with Samah Sabawi, public advocate for Australians for Palestine, giving an address on the revolutions in North Africa and the Middle East. I conducted the service with readings from Thomas Paine, Barak Obama and Sir Robin John Maxwell-Hyslop (a diverse collection of politicians if there ever was one). The service had the largest turnout for the year. It followed with the Philosophy Forum, discussing Matt Ridley's works and especially his most recent and controversial book, "The Rational Optimist". As I am no longer maintaining the Church website due to content decisions I have started a new one - Lightbringers - which is strongly orientated towards 21st century issues, and will be timed for the first compilation of 'blog posts to be released for the Humanity Plus conference.

Have engaged in three sessions of gaming in recent days; on Thursday night Sam S., ran a session of Dr. Who: Adventures in Time and Space where the Dunedin Torchwood Team had to deal with a final scene directly taken from Peter Jackson's 'Bad Taste'. On Sunday, I ran a session of GURPS Krononauts which used the Cyberpunk sourcebook for the Arabic setting George Alec Effinger's "When Gravity Fails". Tonight, Michael C. just finished an excellent rhyming quest for Pendragon, using the main scenario from the supplement Perilous Forest. Also, very pleased to see Johnn Four of Roleplaying Tips give an excellent plug for RPG Review in his latest newsletter.
