So Rudd and Gillard have formed the new Labor team. The Age published my letter on why Gillard herself is not leader. They should be able to land some easy blows given the revelation that the Prime Minister knew that an alleged "biological agent" sent to the Indonesian embassy was in fact, flour. In regional news, there's a coup in Fiji (again). [livejournal.com profile] angel80 gives a good primer on understanding Fijian politics (I notice airfares there are particularly inexpensive at the moment).

We decided that Astaroth, being the only rabbit in the house, needed a friend. Our local pet store had a free black dwarf to give away, thus we are now a two rabbit household. Welcome Murmur. In keeping with the devil-bunny theme, Murmur is also a Duke of Hell.

Social life has consisted of seeing the film adaption of A Scanner Darkly with [livejournal.com profile] caseopaya and [livejournal.com profile] imajica_lj (good, not brilliant, worth seeing), an excellent dinner with [livejournal.com profile] severina_242 (how's those pictures coming, eh?) and [livejournal.com profile] _zombiemonkey and, all the way from BrisVegas, a visit from the delightful [livejournal.com profile] doomydoombear. Tuesday night was LUV December meeting which included a good summary by [livejournal.com profile] laptop006 on GPLv3 and a very amusing presentation by José Castro on the weirdest Perl modules.

The rest of the week has consisted of novel writing, RPG writing, finishing the DragonQuest module The Palace of Ontocle and the Waterloo computer game. Immersion into the novel's worldview will be greatly aided by a visit to Bali over the Christmas break, which I'll be booking today.
