Apologies dear readers, but it's going to be like this for a few weeks...

  • Presentation at Melbourne Unitarian Church on genetic engineering, artificial intelligence and uplifting went well. Will convert into a web document later this week. I forsee potential in converting it into a decent academic journal article.

  • Update. And next Sunday, August 8th, I'm conducting the service. One step further in becoming Reverand Doctor tcpip

  • RMIT's Head of Life Sciences has contacted me regarding my complaint concerning the behaviour of one of their lecturers (see previous two protected posts). The investigation is underway.

  • I have booked to take the CCNA exam at Excom on Friday, September 3. This means I have one month to study a subject that which is normally recommended to be taken over six months. I estimate seven hours per day study.

  • Apropos the above, I'm going to buy a Cisco 2600 Router. I used these in East Timor and I reckon they're really good. I also want a Cisco Catlyst 2950 switch

  • I been interviewed, approved and enrolled in a Certificate of Small Business Management at RMIT. I start on August 23.

  • Of all people, an Australian-Thai motor vehicle research company headed by Peter Brock has approached me for webhosting and developing.

  • My article was published in New Community Quarterly yesterday. I must confess I don't really like this journal-cum-magazine. A little too cavalier on matters of facts.

  • My PhD supervisor is meeting me on either the 11th or 12th, once he makes up his mind.

  • Labor for Refugees General Meeting. Saturday August 1st7th at the New International Bookshop, Trades Hall, 11am. As El Presidente, I'm chairing.

  • Brisbane and SAGE-AU conference on August 18, my paper to be presented on August 20.

  • Meeting Martin Hall from the North Richmond Community Health Centre later today. Made good friends with him in East Timor where he was visiting as part of the Australian Dental Association. When he and Sandra (dentist from Sydney) visited, the total quantity of dentists in East Timor doubled.

  • Brain breaker of the week goes to a certain staff member of Michael Danby's (Federal MP for Melbourne Ports) office who sent out a 10 line email en-masse inviting people to a local branch fundraiser at Michael Moore's 9/11 film. He also attached a Word document leaflet version of the 10 line email. It was 7 megabytes in size.
