Illness & Projects, IT Matters, "Legs Eleven" Tap Concert

Was knocked out with a nasty head cold for most of this week, which has seriously put a dent in most of my activities. My planning schedule should include more temporal room for occasional bouts of illness. I have slipped slightly behind in my studies for Cert IV in Training and Assesment due to the course timetable not matching the online timetable (fairly important for an online course, one would think). Nevertheless I have an HD average thus far (I would hope so), and hope to catch up this week.

Another slippage has been NaNoWriMo, even though I'm not writing a novel as such; currently at 35,000 words which is still on target, although I only managed a paltry 5,000 this week. Even if I do reach the requisite 50K this will be far less than the target for the DragonQuest and Swordbearer derived RPG (which comes under the name DemonSpirits). Played another session of Middle-Earth Role Playing on Friday night; will write up more for the Powers & Perils and HeroQuest PBeMs today.

My workplace was recently in an article in IT Wire which was quite reasonable. NASA deploys a new protocol suit for "deep space Internet". Have been recently writing more Drupal training and explanatory material for ARCS; was delighted to discover a wonderful piece explaining the superiority of Drupal's taxonomy model.

My dear [livejournal.com profile] caseopaya has gone all retro and revived an activity from her early adolescence; tap dancing. Apparently she has some ability and has been quickly impressed as a performer in the Legs Eleven xxx-Ray revue, "a fantastic voyage through the human body". The event will be held on next Friday evening, Saturday matinee and Saturday evening at the National Theatre. I'll be attending the final show. Anyone else want to see this glamour puss in tapping action?

Well the excuse for Melbourne people is quite sound; the weather can't make up its mind what season it is. Whilst that's fairly normal for this stormy bay, the past couple of weeks have been quite extreme. That's pretty much how I ended up with a head cold anyway...
