Modelling, Drop Bears, BrisVegas

Modelled at Como House on Saturday; my costume was a dress-coat made from (mainly) blue paisley ties made by Gail D'Angelis, and I had the opportunity to present an impromptu history lesson on the Battle of Agincourt in the process. Photos coming soon.

The evening after AUUG, had dinner with [livejournal.com profile] arjen_lentz; Melbourne MySQL people were notably absent - I'm hoping there's no bad blood between them. Also in attendance was Luck of Seven. [livejournal.com profile] caseopaya mentioned Drop Bears; I had to explain to our visitor the dangerous truth.

This week I'm off to BrisVegas for the Access Grid Workshop. Finally, I'll be speaking at SecureCon on DDoS and Active Network Defenses on November 8. On Sunday at the Unitarian Philosophy Forum I'm giving a philosophy presentation on the "Borderlines: The Theology of Platonic Philosophers" which will include Plotinus, Averroes, Maimonides, and Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.

LOLZ of the week to [livejournal.com profile] youngsoulrebel for these mock-teen chastity sites: Sex is for Fags and Iron Hymen. "Only in xxx" world scan (hat-tip to [livejournal.com profile] erudito).

When the Tentacles con-book finally appears, look out for the Heortling drop-bear. I promised John Hughes a Kallyr-koala, and that's what turned up.

It all makes perfect sense; oh and thanks for the Renaissance Kingdom's link too... I must play that.

Looking at my "affiliates" in bemusement: is "Dickon_updike" you? Or is that someone else?

[identity profile] tcpip.livejournal.com 2007-10-22 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)

No, someone else; I haven't joined yet.

Those xxx's got me.

Man, I clicked on that last link expecting faux-smut - like a world make out of teeny-pictures of naked people.

On the other hand, those other websites are PACKED FULL OF AWESOME FACTS!

Yes, the day that "xxx" stood for a multicharacter variable are well and truly past.

As for the others... Well, "baby cave" is what killed me...

Dropbears... the terror of Featherdale.
