It is unfortunate that it also means the end of a friendship (albeit mostly distant) that lasted for more than 15 years. But they simply can't be trusted; counter-intuitively, their fear of abandonment means that they push people away in the most horrendous manner.

But it's their job to find their own path to recovery, not mine.
